Get your read on Elgin County! This summer every minute of your logged reading time contributes to your library branches total minutes read. Who can read the most this summer?
How to make sure your reading is helping your branch:
- Visit our reading challenge website Beanstack either through the app or on your web browser.
- Create an account for all the readers in your family.
- Register for the Blast Off: Summer Reading 2024 challenge.
- Every time you read, log those minutes in Beanstack.
- Check back here to see if your branch is in the lead!
Most programs require registration this summer! Please contact the branch before attending each program to register!

Chasing Constellations
Humans have been making shapes out of the stars in the sky for all of human history! It’s up to you to find the Constellations that have fallen out of the sky and ended up in Elgin County Library branches! Visit our 10 branches in person during open hours, find the constellation and enter the code into each activity badge on the Beanstack Challenge. Each badge earned is an entry for the grand prize basket!
Can you help us find all the constellations are by visiting each branch? You have until Saturday, August 31 to get all of your submissions in! Good luck and happy library visiting!
- Visit a library branch during open hours
- Find the constellation in the library
- Open the Beanstack app on your phone or borrow a library iPad
- Make sure you are registered for the Chasing Constellations reading challenge
- Find the right activity badge in the challenge and enter the secret code listed on the constellation
- For a bonus entry with each constellation, answer the second question for each activity badge
- Visit all 10 branches and receive an extra entry
